Visit to Uzbekistan Government and Partner Universities
On October 28, President Nagata visited Uzbekistan, and the signing ceremony of an LOI on cooperation for the establishment of a new university in Uzbekistan was held.
The signing ceremony was preceded by a discussion with Prof. Sharipov Kongratbay Avezimbetovich, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan, at which ideas for the new university were exchanged.

The signing ceremony was scheduled to take place during Prime Minister Kishida's visit to Central Asia, which was canceled due to the announcement of the "Nankai Trough Earthquake Emergency Information."
After the signing ceremony, the delegation visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, where they met with Mr. Khaydarov Ilkhom Utkurovich, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Kudratov Laziz Shavkatovich, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade. On the 29th, meeting with Mr. Sherzod Xotamovich, Minister of Digital Technologies, were held to exchange views on the establishment of the new university.
On the 28th, the delegation visited the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, where they met with Prof. Umarov Akram Azamatovich, First Vice President (Education), and Prof. Ismailova Gulnoza Saydiganikhodjaevna, Vice President (Research), to discuss future plans to promote student and academic exchange. The meeting was held to discuss ways to promote future student and academic exchanges.
On the 29th, they visited Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and met with Rector Rikhsieva Gulchehra Shavkatovna to discuss future collaboration. In addition, President Nagata was awarded an honorary professorship in honor of his contribution to Japanese language education at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.
