TUAN Taiwan Alumni Reunion Held
On Saturday, December 7, the first TUAN Taiwan Alumni Reunion was held at the Howard Plaza Hotel (Taipei), and was attended by President NAGATA Kyosuke, Vice President and Executive Director for International Global Affairs IKEDA Jun, Executive Officer for Business and Stakeholder Relations KANAHO Yasunori, and Deputy Director SEKI Mizuho of the Bureau of Global Initiatives.
TUAN (Tsukuba Universal Alumni Network) is an alumni association network established in October last year that connects the university with overseas alumni organizations and alumni (including Japanese).
In his address, President NAGATA expressed his gratitude for the fact that TUAN alumni reunions have been held in Vietnam, US, Kazakhstan, and other countries, and that many alumni participated, including alumni associations such as the Taiwan Alumni Association and the Taiwan Meikei Association, as well as alumni who are not members of the alumni associations.
Next, he presented congratulations and commemorative gifts to Prof. Lee Chia-Chin, Special Advisor to the Chairman of the Kuomintang (for Japan Affairs) and professor at National Taipei University (Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Ph.D. (International and Advanced Japanese Studies)), who received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star at the Autumn Conferment of Decorations on Foreign Nationals, and after that, Prof. Lee's toast made the venue even more amiable.
During the roundtable meeting, each participant delivered a one-minute speech to report on the latest developments. The atmosphere was very exciting, and the network, which transcended age groups, was expanding.
After Vice President IKEDA's closing remarks, a commemorative photo was taken, and the first TUAN Taiwan Alumni Association, which lasted about two hours, came to an end. TUAN alumni reunions will continue to take place worldwide.
