President NAGATA Attends the 60th Anniversary Celebration of Ruhr University Bochum

On June 18, President NAGATA Kyosuke attended the 60th anniversary celebration of Ruhr University Bochum—a Campus-in-Campus partner university—held in Germany.
Ruhr University Bochum, established in 1965 as the first university in post-war West Germany, marked its 60th anniversary with a series of commemorative events. The program included an exhibition looking back on the university's history and the unveiling of a commemorative model replicating the campus as it appeared when the university first opened.
In the opening remarks, Rector Martin Paul of Ruhr University Bochum and Mayor Thomas Eiskirch of the City of Bochum highlighted the strong international collaborations the university has fostered over the years. They specifically mentioned the partnership with the University of Tsukuba as a symbol of these efforts, which was met with a round of applause from the audience in recognition of President NAGATA.
Before and after the celebration event, President NAGATA held discussions with researchers from the Institute of Diversity Medicine and the Faculty of Sport Science at Ruhr University Bochum, visited the university-based startup company xemX, and had a meeting with Rector Paul. These meetings involved active exchanges of ideas on future collaboration in a variety of academic and research fields.
